Below is a photo of Adam and I at cookout 2 of 3 that day. Luckily I'm eating for 2 and managed to eat at all 3 of them. The 3rd one was hosted at the Director of Football Operations' house and was an awesome time. He had fire pit and the kids had a blast roasting marshmallows on the fire to make smores. I, however, was so stressed and nervous about the kids and the fire. They were fine but I got a glimpse of what I'm going to be like once the baby is born and that is: worried about everything that could possibly hurt the baby. I was worried about those kids and they aren't even mine! I apologize to Baby Shorter right now for being a worried and protective mom!
Here is the special shirt I made for the game. It's not the most flattering picture of me since my face looks a little chubby and I look like I have a muffin top more than a baby bump, but I'm getting used to not looking like my normal hot self. I blame it all on the baby:)
Here is Adam coaching up his lineman. He's got great focus! I don't even think he notices that the dance team is right in front of him:)
Now the photo everyone has been waiting for....the 27 week belly shot. It wasn't just my imagination that my belly shot up in the past couple of weeks. I went to the OB last Friday and she said that I hit a "growth spurt" and that I would hit another one around 32 weeks and that's when women say they really become uncomfortable. Really?? I feel pretty uncomfortable already! Poor Adam has to sleep with me while I toss and turn trying to fall asleep surrounded by my fort of pillows. He'll ask me if I'm comfortable (why he asks, I don't know because the answer is always the same) to which I always reply "NO". He'll then ask if there's anything he can do, again to which I reply "NO". I think he feels like he should at least acknowledge my discomfort before dozing back to sleep.
Other than being uncomfortable, taking a little longer to bend down and up, and a little soreness due to the expanding of my pelvic area I feel great. I've read that sometimes the yucky symptoms of the first tri-mester (the nausea and fatigue) re-appear in the 3rd tri-mester. I really hope not for my sake and for Adam's sake. If that happens I'm sure he'll have to start working late at the office:) I can't say I would blame him!
Yikes, I'm getting big!
